HBO's John Adams
Has anyone else here seen it? Any thoughts on it?
I highly recommend it, if you haven't yet seen it.

Do what I did...get netflix0 -
I thought this was quite well done. He is truly a misunderstood President. He was somewhat of an idealist in far from ideal times.
I like costume dramas, so I enjoy most of the HBO, Starz and Showtime period pieces. In a similar vain I can recommend the BBC's Fall of Eagles, about the royal families of Europe in the years leading up to World War I.
There is also By a Sword Divided, which tells the story of two families during the English Civil War. One supports the king, one supports Parliament. Good stuff.0 -
Thanks for the tips... 0 -
I thought it was fantastic! The entire cast was well chosen but Paul Giamani was amazing. We got ours from Netflix too but it seemed to take forever for the next disc to arrive! 0 -
wolf and others,
As usual, youtube has enough clips to give a feel for the series.

Opening theme for the series (I'm a historic flag buff, so I really enjoyed this)

I'm looking forward to Boardwalk Empire on HBO.
I do like the historic miniseries however. I wish someone would do something on the American Revolution. It is such a misunderstood series of events.0 -
I thought the series was excellent. The actors were all superb and the production was top-notch. 0
