Sig 220 factory grips vs Hogue
I would like to replace my nice wood grips for a thinner grip. After looking at sig's website, I can buy plastic replacement grips. Are the factory grips all plastic? or rubbery like the hogue's? Are the hogue (non finger groves) about the same size (thickness) as the factory grips? Thanks.

The standard type factory grips are all plastic and -IIRC- close to the same thickness as the two piece Hogue grip panels. 0 -
Some P220 pistols came from the factory with the Hogue rubber grips. The Hogue grips for the P220 are very close to the same thickness as the factory plastic grips. I like the Hogues better for the 220 but prefer the plastic factory for the double stack Sigs as the Hogues' grips are thicker for them. 0 -
If you want to make the grip thinner, you want the SIG factory SLIM grips:

I'm pretty sure they're all plastic, but I bet you'll like them.
Edit: Hogues are just as fat as the factory grips. There is a reason the slim grips are out of stock. . .you might want to wait until they're in stock again.0 -
Thanks for your help. I found the sig slim grips on the sig website but they are out of stock. I think I will try the hogue's on the 220. I think I would like them also on my 226. With the double stack mags it is a really big grip. 0 -
This is a good source for genuine SIG parts - oftentimes for less cash than ordering factory direct.
