NEF Chinese made 12 gauge shotgun.
Saw one of these pretty cheap at the local gunstore, but am skeptical of Chinese made guns (except maybe AKs and SKSs).
Reminded me a little bit of an 870.
Anyone try one? Are these crap?

"Reminded me a little bit of an 870".....YUP, COPY OF AN 870
"Are these crap?".........YUP0 -
Mike, the NEF Pardner (correct spelling) is far from crap.Walnut stock, metal trigger guard, excellent fit and finish.Find me a bad review of this shotgun.I own one and NO complaints except that it's made in CHINA. [:p] 0 -
Beantown,
Once again, those with no know run the blow.
Yes they are a decent gun for being Chinese made. Yes they are more cost effectively made than the 870, but are still a cut or two above the Mossberg 500/590 series. After all is said and done, it is hard to beat the cost effectiveness of a decent 870 copy, as the 870 is the most trusted slide action shotgun in the world.
Best
EDIT 1
Obviously cn't read either. I believe Beantown said 18"0 -
"it is hard to beat the cost effectiveness of a decent 870 copy, as the 870 is the most trusted slide action shotgun in the world."..............well yes, BUT...........a true Remington will not be much more expensive, and you can buy parts for it. will Rem. parts fit in a chinese shotgun?........I wouldn't bet on it.[xx(]
I have worked on the chinese copies of the win. m-97, pure junk and win. parts do NOT fit.0 -

If you can tell me where I can find an 18" Remington 870 for $150 (or hell, under $250) I'm all ears.
Edit, Mike, thanks.
Auction you quoted below is for a $200 26" ribbed barrel 870 (not an 18"), plus $25 shipping costs, plus transfer costs (which are $35 with the dealer I use. . .which has the above listed Chinese NEF Remington clone on sale for $150 + tax OTD). Its close, but not quite. If it were non-ribbed, then a barrel hacksaw job would probably be "close enough".
For the heck of it, I just bid on 189596127, but I'd be pretty shocked to actually win the auction for anywhere near $200.
188067578 is also a bit more like it, though again, we'll see how close to $200 it actually closes at.
Edit #2: Did some more "google" research.
Per this guy, most 870 parts will either drop right into the NEF gun, or will do so with slight fitting:

here ya go, g.b. auction #
187596673
EDIT,there are a bunch on the auction side as you found out. rem. barrels are easy to cut (just stay on a 'rib'). the $150+ tx otd isn't a good buy if it breaks and you can't get parts (did you ever consider WHY it's so cheep??[;)]).0
