Remington 597
hi, i'd like to start shooting my 597 at paper. my question is, is it a big deal to have the trigger adjusted? i don't know the poundage but i'd say its pretty high. i took the stock off and everything is contained and it doesn't look like an easy job. is anyone familiar with this gun? thanks for your time

I had my 597 stainless w/laminated stock out yesterday. It's been in my safe for ten years, without shooting it. Now I know why. The trigger pull is a little hard causing my groups at 50 yards to be in a 3" circle. After 200 rounds the magazine would not stay clipped in, kept dropping down an eighth inch and would not cycle a round. I suppose it's dirt build up. I only load my mags to 8 rounds each, otherwise the .22's angle funny and jam on chamber loading.
I spent 250.00 for it years ago had relied on the Remington brand as quality, I know better now.
I hope you fare better than me on your 597. Good Luck0
