Winchester proof markings
On my 1905 the proof markings on the barrel and the receiver seem to be the same as on my Mdl 94, 30wcf rifle. However the 94 barrel has all of the regular Winchester markings. The '05 definitely doesn't have them and never did, the finish is good enough that there would be traces showing. Inside of the action the only marks are; a triangle with a 1 in it and the number 33. They are on the rear half on the frame, (non moving part).
Hopefully the pictures will help, thanks to Bert H.

Sorry about the delay... too many other irons in the fire tonight.
Here are the pictures...

The barrel is unmarked except for the "30 US" and the proof mark stamp. My opinion is that the caliber stamp was hand applied and that the proof stamp is not authentic.0 -
Hello Deerhide,
I'll agree with Bert, the 30 US stamp is definitely not Winchester applied, and the proof marks are questionable. As it is lacking any other marking, it is almost certainly a non-factory re-barrel.0 -
Thanks everyone.
This info sounds right to me; couldn't get .35 wsl and sent it somwhere and got this barrel put on. .30 carbine ammo would be cheap and easy to find around here.....this Town was a big U.S. military WW2 and cold war base.
I'll submit any new info I get.
Thanks Bert for posting the photos.
