Hello unless you are left handed they are another DO-DAD for a problem that never existed in the first place[V]However all safeties and slide stop pins push against the opposite ends of 2 pins and a spring enclosed in a tube on the left side of the frame When the original designed left side safety is placed to the on position the rear facing pin slightly extends against the safety. This means the pin has to be pressed in to Take the safety OFF . If the safety is not made correctly the angle of the safety can go from very hard to Place the safety to the safe position to one that will almost jump on during recoil A good gunsmith should be able to change this angle in 10 minutes but like all things involving a safety make sure any thing you do will not make the pistol an accident waiting to happen.

Thanks. And I am a lefty. Seems on recoil if I don't have my thumb on top of the safety the thing will engage.
