7mm Gradle Express is an extreme wildcat.
Cases are made by lathe turning the rims off of .348 WCF, necking it down, and hydraulically reforming it with an odd rounded shoulder.
Quality Cartridge might make it up for you. It won't be cheap.

There isn't any off-the-shelf ammunition available and as mentioned, it is an intense wildcat due to the design.
If you have the chance, many of us would appreciate a few pictures of the rifle posted to this thread.

That was a great read! Since I'm a 7mm short mag fan, the article was right up my alley for a wish list cartridge. Even now, while we get into better and better bullets, the 7mm regains the luster it once had as a great long range cartridge. Or, should I say, really begins to earn it's keep as the highly touted ballistics wonder of small rifles. About two years ago I sent a letter to Weatherby asking if they had any plans for a short Weatherby mag. I got a "Not at this time" answer. (I thought maaaybe they could've shortened the answer a bit). Looks like I'm 60 years too late.

I would imagine the value of this as something any good gunsmith could turn out during the time. If it shoots well and is in relatively good condition, somewhere around $500.00. Unfortunately, uniqueness of caliber is kind of a monetary detractor here not an asset. If Roy Gradle was a known "high end" rifle maker then you could see that rifle go for tenfold of that. But, from what I've seen of the article He seemed to do good work, but not fancy work. That's where the prices of custom guns starts jumping. A known high end customizer and the work that is on the gun itself.
Pictures of the rifle, would have a lot to say about that. I would also like to see pictures of it.

What are you talking about? It's a serialized firearm, post 1898. No matter what cartridge it's chambered in. And fwiw, that's kind of 'off-topic' don't you think?

Joe, I gotta tell you that is one fine looking rifle. My new best guess for price is a grand at least. If the action functions properly and it shoots well, then it would be worth around that.0 -
