Need help identifying this .22 revolver

buttplate
I have researched every possible on-line resource to find out about this revolver. The stamping on the left side of the revolver, and the name (letters) on the butt strap are the only markings on this piece. There is no serial # anywhere. The gun seems to be well built, but the metal finishing is rough. I'm including pics of the holster that came with it in case it will help ID this gun. Has anyone ever seen one of these before?

    From the appearance and markings it appears to be from South Asia. Similar low production pieces have surfaced from Pakistan, Viet Nam and China.

    Their is a village in Pakistan named Dara who's residents are mainly gunsmiths, who make thousands of different types off virtually handmade firearms in a year.

    Similar handguns were also made in Viet Nam and China before the communists put a stop to the small scale village industries that made them.

    I agree with Rufe. Although I could not find a similar model, the butt stamping of THINH indicates Vietnamese lineage. THINH means "prosperity" in Vietnamese and is also a common proper name.

    And the inscription on side of frame looks like a military unit and date August 1969, a busy time there...
