Never had any experience with a Kart conversion, or magazines for same. I have worked on .22 pistols with similar magazine problems though. The description of your problem suggests that the magazine lips are releasing the cartridge to quickly in the loading cycle. The remedy for this problem is to bend the lips in ever so slightly. This shouldn't be done with a "ham" hand. Sometime it's only a matter of .010 on each side to get the release point down to the proper place.

To bend the lips evenly without screwing them up with needle nose pliers. A tool is made out of 1/4" bar stock that is slotted near the end half way through with a hack saw cut.

Hello the key to getting a Kart to feed is the relationship between the height of the magazine in relationship to the centerline of the bore and also the relationship between the height of the magazine and the bottom of the slide the part that contact the Rim of the top cartridge. Many Karts were original installed on 1911 type frames that Have had the frame rails Peened down to make the original 45ACP slide fit tighter to the frame. Then when you installed a Kart unit the Slide would DRAG on the magazine so unknowing GUN-SMITHS took a file to the magazine latch cutout. to let the magazine set down and not drag on the slide However this can cause a problem with the bore line not aligned to the lowered magazine . What I would do is get a 1/2 dozen Magazine releases Take the slide off the frame and install an empty magazine with each of the 1/2 dozen units installed and note which is holds the magazine the highest and which holds it the lowest and work from there. If by Chance you live in Va, If you arrange to come to meet me we can go to the range and work our the Kinks of your Kart for Free I sold my Hammerli 208S years ago and have 2 karts . That I shoot They are both trouble free but have dedicated magazines for each that are NOT interchangeable Feel free to send me a email just double click on my user name.

my karts liked federals best. and i found that if they are over tightened on the frame, it will cause problems.

I had the same issue and came to the same conclusion on magazines. BTW I have had success with the advantage arms polymer mags. I am interested in selling my KART unit with one Kart Mag if anyone is interested. I would like someone who can appreciate it to have it. Is $500 reasonable?
