DEWAT Sten Mark II
Looking for a listing price for a perfect DEWAT Sten Mark II with all paperwork from 1968 Amnesty. Weapon is complete and was in shooting condition when it was de-activated. Two stocks are included: A loop folding stock and a screw in rod with butt plate. This is a beauty! The gun is NOT a dummy made from parts and a non-working receiver, it is a DEWAT made from a WORKING Sten Mark II!

Probably about $4000. A registered DEWAT transfers tax free on a BATFE Form 5 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic as a DEWAT. When/if the new buyer reactivates the gun it's status changes completely, but that is not your issue.
I apologize for the previous confusion on your MP-40 in the other thread but you have to understand that we get very few visitors here who have an understanding of the true and legal definition of DEWAT. Most people typically apply DEWAT to any dummy gun built from parts and not an actual registered and Deactivated War Trophy.0 -

If it were live and unaltered it would bring around $6K or even more if really nice. The very fact that it is a registered machine gun and a genuine Sten gun registered during the 1968 amnesty and not a tube gun built up on a parts kit with an US made receiver and then registered before the May 1986 ban went into effect makes it highly desirable. No matter what was done to the receiver it is a real Sten gun, it can be legally reactivated and as a result it is worth good money. It's being a DEWAT does reduce the value but only because someone will have to spend the time and trouble to reactive it.0 -
Boy, this is funny. I bought a DEWAT Sten , and the only DEWAT, was a lead slug stuck in the chamber, which FELL OUT with a sharp tap. But I still had to take to a CL 2 mfg and get the correct paperwork; I don't remember all the form numbers,as that was 20+ years ago. 0
