New Model Single Six ?

I just took the grips off of my new model Ruger Single Six. Is there an internal lock on these? When did they start putting this feature on them?

  The only lock I've ever seen is the pad lock in the case.
  How old is the gun [?]

  The new ones have an internal lock on their new XR3 frames but it's hidden inside the grip frame. You have to (foolishly) drill a hole in your grips if you want to use it. Otherwise, just ignore it.
