HELP I.D. "SAFARI" .22rf RIFLE
Just obtained this extremely "cheapie" style of single-shot 22rf rifle. The ONLY markings are on the rear sight. Below is pic of that stamping.
It looks like 3 pyramids over the word Safari and small under that is (101) - which might indicate the model. The stock is a simple wooden plank with smoothed and rounded edges. NO buttplate. And, note that this rear sight is mounted bass ackwards to normal. The rifle's butt is to the RIGHT of this pic!!!
Below is overall photo of the rifle. There is no safety, and NO extractor of any kind I can see. You simply pull the knob back to cock and pull the trigger.
I've checked the guide books, which list a SAFARI ARMS CO. in Phoenix, AZ who sold out to a WA outfit. But none of the various references talks about a .22rf SS rifle, nor do any show what the company trade mark looked like that included the 3 pyramid design.
Anyone recognize it or have any additional info about it? I even checked Wickipedia and came up with much the same problems.
Any and all info would greatly appreciated.

It might have some connection with the Daisy BB Gun folks. They made a Safari MK I BB Gun during the late 60's, early 70's time frame that was originally derived from another model known as the 102 Cub. It might be just a coincidence but Daisy did get involved with .22 caseless ammo and conventional .22 rifles between the 60's and 80's. 0 -
Thanks, Rufe. Now that you mention it, it does have something about it reminiscent of a WAMO Powermaster rifle I bought from the gent who writes all the info about airguns. He may have the answer for me.
And, yes that stock is also MUCH like those found on airguns. Will let you know if I learn any more about it.

Wrote to the curator of the Daisy Museum asking about this little rifle. Heard back from him today. Here's his reply:
Sorry, this is not a Daisy and I don't have any idea who may have built it. Daisy did build a #86/70 Mark I Safari BB Gun from 1970-1976.

So, it's back to the drawing boards. If anyone has any of the old Gun Digests from the late '50 through early 70s, I would appreciate it if you would check their NEW PRODUCTS feature in those books to see if this little single-shot is listed in any of them.

Thanks for the lead, upjumtddebil. I was thinking about going on CGN and posting but kinda' forgot about it. Your tip may be just the lead I need. If you ever visit CGN my username there is mauser.
Over the years I've gotten a LOT or good info out of the gang up there.
