  Hard to give you a definitive answer about a commercial Makarov. Most all I have run into over the years have been blued militaries. But with a pistol made specifically for commercial sale, anything is possible.
  
  You might try the Makarov.com site if it's still up? The retail site was shut down a couple of years ago, but the area with the Makarov history and information was still open and being maintains last time I checked it out.
  
  Also {Elsewhere} has a very active Makarov forum with a lot of knowledgeable Makarov collectors. Both the Russians and Bulgarians made a bunch of almost unknown, short run commercial variations before they ceased production.

  I can't give you percentages, but this finish is not uncommon on Arsenal/Bulgarian Makarovs.
  
  Wait until Mark Christian comes around; I bet he'll be able to give you more info here.

  This pistol that's being auctioned is not a Makarov. It's a Polish pistol chambered for the Makarov cartridge. It has no connection to PD Neel's original post regarding Bulgarian commercial Makarov's.
