H&R Handi Rifle 45-70

What would be the best barrel length, I see them from 22 inch all the way up to the buffalo gun with a 32 inch barrel, I like the looks of the Buffalo model but not sure if I want that much more barrel if there is not that much difference in performance

    I had one of the Buffalo Rifles and was very impressed with the accuracy and the sights. If you want to shoot more than a few hundred yards, get the Buffalo Rifle. If most of your shooting will be around 100 yards, the standard 22" barrel will suit you fine.

    the one I had was the 'standard' length, and up to 100 yards it did great...did not have any longer range to see if it would 'reach out there'.

    If you are going to put a scope on it and go hunting, get the 22".

    If you are going to spend the day at the range,get the 32", it will give a lot more iron sight radius and will add weight to cushion the recoil.
