colt cadet

i have a colt cadet 22 auto. Can anyone tell me how to break it down for cleaning?

    1chig....I clean mine with a boresnake and that's about it. From time to time I wipe down the SS but it doesn't take much. Sometimes get the powder residue out of the breech and mag well with a Qtip. I have several of these little gems and love to shoot them a lot. While they are not Smith 41's, when I take my 41's to the range I always take a couple of the Colt's also and they do fine. Great little .22's that most folks don't know much about. I have one set up with a laser and it is a tackdriver! Good shooting![^]

    do you mind if i ask where you got the setup for the laser, i have been wanting to set mine up with a scope but cant seem to find all the hardware to do this. I dont realy want to do any drilling on the little thing. I do love shooting it and the are very accurate, i bet it WOULD be a tack driver with a scope or laser thanks a bunch.

    If I remember correctly there is an allen head screw just in front of the trigger guard under the barrel that unscrews and the barrel comes off. But it's been a while since I had mine.

    1chig....I have four of these great little Colts, one with a scope, one with a laser, and the other two just iron sights (which are fine actually). The hard part is to find the SS rail and scope rings to match the gun. I got them years back (can't remember where but it took a hunt...plenty of blued rings and rails out there but not many SS to match the pistol) and I will look around to see if I still have the receipts and get back to you. The SS scope was also rather hard to find but they are still out there. The top of the pistol is already tapped so no need to drill. Good luck on the hunt[:)]

    thank you very much, it wouldnt have to be ss, blued would be fine though i probably would like ss, but i cant seem to find any of any kind. thanks much
