winchester model 24 with two sets of barrels
i picked up a win. model 24 with two sets of barrels,a 16ga set with forearm and a 20ga with forearm. the gun is in super con., was this a factory set or just have a second set added? serial number 103823, thanks eastbank.

Do both barrels and forend stocks have the exact same serial number on them? 0 -
the barrels don,t have serial numbers on then, only the winchester normal roll marks on the barrels with winchester proof marks,under neath on the water table are the choke marks. the forends only have 16 on the forend hanger metal and 16 on the wood,the same for the 20ga forend. i will check on a friend,s win model 24, to see if his gun has serial numbers on the barrels and forend. thanks eastbank. 0 -
Its very doubtful winchester would do a 2 barrel set on a 24, and without proof you just have a gun with an extra barrel. Still a nice 24. 0 -

In the early 70's I traded a pre 64 Win 94 for a M24 in 16 G because one of the parts company's (Numrich or Sarco?) offered a set of 20 ga barrels for a little over $20.00. I fitted the barrels & used the 16 G forend on both. It was a little oversize on the 20's but it worked. I don't remember if the second set of barrels had markings on them or not. I sold the set a couple years ago. Gunswapper. 0
