    my father found a old gun wrapped in wax paper in an old barn when he was a child its a doulbe barrel muzzaloader has engaveings on the sides beautiful gun only thing we found on the gun is a name john arnold do u know anything about this gun i looked everywhere cant find anything on it thank you for your time

    Not to sound harsh, but if you're going to put it up for auction it really doesn't matter. The market will determine the value. Overprice it and it won't get any bids, underprice it and the bidders will run it up to market. Some of the more popular sellers start their guns out at a $1 and let them go. With an old Colt and Winchester that should be a safe thing to do.

    Those are just patent dates, not manufacture dates. I posted the link above to show you how to post pictures.
