S&W didn't reply (as usual). Can anyone tell the year of mfg of Mdl 10, Ser #926XXX?

  Is there a "C" prefix as in C926XXX? If so, it would be 1966-67.
  
  A "D" prefix would be 1976-77.

  If it has a "C" prefix serial number, late 60's. If it doesn't have a prefix it's a pre Model 10, made during the war.
