Can anyone identify these tools?
I have a few parts and tools from a gunsmith estate that I need help to identify so I can post them correctly and get them to the person that needs them. Your knowledge and help here is always appreciated. Denise

adapters to allow blanks to fire and work the action on M-16 (The square ones, the round one are probably the same thing for M-1's ? ) 0 -
They look like the adaptors that fit over the muzzle of a semiautomatic rifle to shoot blanks with. Without the adaptor the rifle will not cycle on its own. 0 -
For future refference, it might not be a good idea to photograph red items on a red background.
They are ADAPTERS, BLANK CARTRIDGE0 -
They are blank firing adaptors. The square device will work with the M16/AR-15 series of rifles using the standard bird cage flash hider. The round looking MK 164 blank firing adaptor is designed to function with the M60E3 General Purpose Machine gun. 0 -
Are there people that still use these and what kind of value do they have? Thanks! 0 -
The AR-15/M16 BFAs are very common. Since you can buy them all day on the Internet from many sources for under $10 brand new your used examples won't be worth much money. The M60 BFAs, including the variation in your other thread are more unusual, but the numbers of guys owning an M60 out there are very few so the market is not very large. 0 -
Thank you very much for your help. 0 -

The BFAs I used on the on the M60 did not look like that at all. IIRC they they clamped onto the front sight tower after the rod was inserted into the flash supressor.

The round ones fit the M240 series that are currently on use by our forces.

I am pretty sure that BFA fits the M60E3, which has the round bird cage style FH and not the older type found on the earlier M60s (a BFA for the variation is shown in another thread). It may well fit the M240 as well since the FH on both the M60E3 and M240 look very much alike. 0
