Any Ruger Experts that can tell me what this is? Model 1740 catalog # KGP-151 .357 Stainless 5" Bbl. with D serial number. Can`t get on the Ruger forum as I have GMail. "Thanks"

You know what it is. Its a 5" Ruger stainless steel revolver in .357.
The 151 in the model number refers to the 5" barrel.
I'm not sure what (if anything) the "D" serial number means. The 5" barrel version of these are rarer than the usual 4 and 6 inchers, but they're not super-duper scarce.

A phone call to Ruger ought to sort that out.
A few minutes of internet research tells me that the 5" GP100 guns were only put out in limited edition, by special request of a few vendors. EG:

KGP-151 is/was a special distributor model for Davidson's. Known S/N range 174-80829 to 174-83809. Reportedly 500 produced.
The "D" does indeed mean it is a duplicate gun.
There are only 78 known "D" duplicate guns in the GP-100 series and they are extremely rare. Of the 78 known, none of them are in the 151 model, yours would be the first known.
The specific info is from "The Red Eagle News Exchange"
By your post, it looks as if you also have the original box.
All that being said, it's a nice 5" stainless .357, and only worth more to an avid GP-100 collector.
