Argentine 1911
One is advertised locally. Other than the usual things is there anything particular to the Argentine 1911 I need to be wary of if I take a look at it? Thanks

Beside there being different generations of the Argentine military Colts, i.e early ones actually made by Colt in the U.S. There is the Ballista Molina, which is derivative that has a lot of the Spanish made Star's features. Many folks don't know the difference and lump all as being Argentine 1911's.
If at all possible, it would be best if you could post quality photos prior to purchase. If that's not possible give us a specific description and serial number range.0 -

The Argentines never made a bad 1911 type pistol. The Ballester Molina, though not a true 1911 clone, is also a great gun. 0 -

I would agree with this pistol being quite superior for the money. It should run like a top, but not hurt your wallet, if obtained for under $500.00. I have found them recently in the Florida area for just over four hundred, to nearly seven hundred. If found near the low end, you can't go wrong.

GatoGordo....The Arg 1911 are rather neat pistols. The Arg arsenal ones come in Air Force, Navy and Army models and are so marked. They are good shooters and are usually nicely priced($400-800+) Typically the Arg Navy 1911 (marked Armada Nacional) is the rarer one and commands a bit of a premium. I have all three and shoot them all...they are lots of fun and don't break the pocketbook[:D]. Good luck! 0 -
I put over 150 rnds at the range one afternoon with differnt ammo and not one jamb. one of the best pistol for the money.i have the army model at the 65,000 serial range all matching,original finish,about 80% awsome gun. 0 -
Identification of the gun in Perry Shooter's post should have in large letters on the slide DGFM-FMAP, should have the word 'Sistema', and should have the frame, slide, and barrel with the gun's SerNo.

Well, unfortunately, as my dear departed dad was known to say "you snooze, you lose" and I let it get away for what seems to have been a good price ($400 w/extras) because I was uncertain about things.
