Win 70 bedding

Hello---This is probably more of a rant than a question. In the past 99% of my stock has involved Rem's. Today I started to bed a Post 64 Win.70 featherweight in .270 cal. What in the world is the crap that Win. glued all over the notch for the recoil lug. It's rubbery, melts on a dremmel tool, and is a total pain in the back side. This may be a bigger joke than the Rem. SPS stock. Comments

  Looks like something you would use around a window pane. Someones dream that was consumers nightmare.

  [:)]Usually it can be removed with a small chisel to cut it into smaller pieces and then just pulled out with a pick of some sort. It doesn't stick to the wood very well.
