Llama ID Help
I purchased a 45 cal Llama and need help identifying the model.
Gun is full size 1911 style, blue with grips that appear to be bone or plastic that are a light brown/leather color. Pistol is marked as follows:
Left side of Slide has Llama 45 Cal
Left side of frame has proof marks box with an x inside, circle with small horns on top and A*2 or D*2 or n*2
Right side of frame has Stoeger Industries Hackensack NJ Made in Spain
Right side of slide has Gabilondo Y CIA Vitoria (Espana)
Serial Number A512xx
Bottom of mag says Made in USA by D&E which could be a replacement.
I need to ID because I need a new rear sight and just need to know what to communicate. Great forum and many thanks for your responses.

The different Llama's were identified by Roman Numeral designations. The .45's were "IX". Unfortunately their were different variations, i.e. IX-A, IX-B, etc. I don't know if all of them had the same rear sight? 0 -
Stoeger stopped peddling Llamas back in 1993 so given that date and the description of the pistol as being full sized; I'd say that it was a IX-C. This kind of stuff tends to be hit (rarely) and miss (often), so be sure that when you purchase the new rear sight you can send it back in the event that it won't work on your pistol. 0 -
I believe this may be what you have. 
As can be seen, there is no IX-A, B, or C on either of mine.0 -
For additional information, you might want to try this. Go the url listed below. Once there, you will find a list of forums for different manufacturers. Click on "other 1911s", and ask your questions. They used to have dedicated forum for Llamas, but, I guess due to waning popularity, they have combined them with other mfgs. By the way, I have three Llamas and love them all.

Yes, the gun pictured is mine with the only exception being the proof mark and the grips. Finding a rear sight is much harder than I imagined!
