RZM Marked Walther PPK

I have the chance to buy an RZM marked Walther PPK. The only problem is that the slide has been refinished. It has been a high quality job without any over polishing of the metal and there is no smudging to any of the lettering, and the slide matches the receiver extremely well. However, it is still refinished. I can get the gun for $650.00 or possibly even $600.00.

Is the gun worth it? How much is it actually worth roughly? It has about 90% or a little more finish with the original wrap around brown grips with the finger extension magazine. I wish I had pics of the gun to show but I can't get any so this is the best description I can give.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

    If thats the one that has the marking(s) etched on the slide, rather then engraved into the metal with a die stamp or pantagraph? Don't see how the slide could have been refinished without obliterating the marking(s).

    Those war time Walthers with the etched markings used to give me fits, when I photographed them. This was because the slide markings are very fragile, not actually being stamped or engraved into the metal of the slide.

    Unless your going to get a super BIL deal on this PPK, I wouldn't mess with it. The story about the slide being refinished with the markings being still legible, seems all full questionable to me.

    The RZM marking is stamped into the metal between the walther address and the grip serrations on the left side. Its not as deeply stamped as the walther address, but its definately a stamping.

    davidh5000.....without photos it is just a an educated guess as to what you have. The very fact that the PPk has been refinished shoots any collector value no matter how good the job might be. Having said that, it is one fine little pistol in its own right and if I could get the real deal (even refinished) for @$600 I would grab it. If it was not refinished and in what you call "90%" (remember, one persons 90% is another's 80%) shape, grips in good shape (no cracks) and numbers matching, it could be upwards of $1k++. I have several and like them all, even to the point of using one for CC[^]. Good luck!

    The grips are something I have checked over VERY carefully. There are no stress cracks in them. The grips is one of the reasons I am really still considering buying the gun. I normally never buy anything that has been refiished, but where I live RZM marked PPK's are something you just never seem to see anymore.
