S&W 38s 2" nickel

Hello all,
I have recently come across a S&W nickel plated (maybe Stainless??) 15-3 revolver with 2" barrel. serial # 10k4*** looks to be in excellent condition with wood grips. I beleive it is a 1977 model? I have not been able to locate much info about it. if anyone knows its worth, manufacture date etc. I would love some feed back. Thanks.

    A factory original, nickeled, Model 15, with a 2" barrel, wouldn't be a particularly common variation.

    Your 15-3 is a late 1977 model. The 2" nickle models bring premeium prices if in very good condition.
    Depending on condition, a rough guess on price is $250-400.
    Post some good close-up pictures for more info.

    If its a model 15 its nickel, not stainless. The 2" versions are a little hard to find, and nickel 2 inchers even harder. I have a blued 2" 15 I got at auction a couple years ago. Still looking for the nickel version.

    That gun was made in the first half of 1977. In good condition its probably worth $500 to $600. As rufe said, pictures would help.

    That is a nice handgun. I would think that $325 - $375 would be a fair price on that one.

    For whatever it is worth. . . I sold one pretty much as you describe at a gun show a month or so ago for $450.

    Jake38.....I have a nickel 2" Combat Masterpiece 15-4 (#237k***) in 95% that I would not sell, even in this down market, for less than $500. Great shooter[^] that will hold its value long in the future. I put a pair of tigerwood grips on it years ago that make it look sharp![:D]
