Argentino Modelo 1909
My wife bought a "custom" Mauser 1909 Made in Berlin, Converted to 270 Win with a fancy safety and bolt Matching #'s and nice wood stock--$1100.(lets not talk about the gun dealer who ripped her off cause I could choke him)
Questions
1) Is this a 98 Mauser?
2) Is it a large ring?
3) why does it say Argentino?
4) anything else would be great.

I have the model 1909 Mauser made by Deutsche Waffen-UND MuntionsFabriken Berlin. The front sight has been removed and a Bushenll Sportview scope mounted on it. I would like to know what it is worth. matching serial number A8289, good condtion, thanks! 0 -
Good gun, no ruined by modifying.
I assume it was drilled and tapped to have the scope mounted.
It helps when you post photos and describe in detail any alterations.
I have paid $50.00-100.00 for such modified Argentine Mausers.

Depends on who and how the receiver was Drilled and Tapped the Action alone may bring more money then a Modified Military rifle the complete Rifle . The action would be a good one for a starting point to have a custom rifle Built. 0 -
I just bought a 1909 unfired, I believe, as the nitre blue is still pristine on trigger, no marks on ramp or bolt face (Still shined) for $225. It even still has the matching ser #'d muzzle cover. A good guess on yours is probably $150-$200 0
