Bushmaster "AR" upper in 7.62x39mm
I have been considering an "AR" upper in 7.62x39mm, and I recently noticed Bushmaster is producing both complete rifles and uppers in this caliber. Most searches on the net voiced concern that mags and feeding ammo are issues with 7.62x39 in "AR" type mags.
I would like to try a caliber other than 223/5.56mm, and since I have some 7.62x39 componets already seemed like the first caliber to look at. Not looking for an SKS or AK, plan on hunting with this setup (if I purchase the upper) so I will be looking toward the A3 flat top upper for scope use.
Any thoughts, opinions, or experience with this setup?? I know several other companies make 7.62x39 rifles and uppers, and the results seem to be a "mixed bag" in terms of reliability and quality, so I am hoping to here from those who have tried the Bushmaster version. I know Bushmaster has a good reputation in the industry, so hopefully this trend continues in their 7.62x39 products.

I use my ARs for fun shooting, nothing serious where sub-moa might be needed and I like my heavy barreled 16" upper in 7.62X39 very much. I think it's a great match of cartridge and gun, especially if you're hunting hogs seems better than 5.56.. Really can't recall which upper I bought, but it functions perfectly with CProducts magazines. I made the mistake of buying a "Frankenmag" - AR top 1/3rd welded to an AR and it didn't work very well. Whether 10 or 30 rounds the CProducts has worked.
One little pain in the fanny I found was getting a good brake. Not exactly a "must have" on a gun with little recoil, but my barrel carried the 1/2X28 (AR 15) threading. So, standard AR brakes didn't work (.22 cal hole) nor did standard AK brakes (different thread) so I finally ended up with DNTC brake supposedly designed for an AK pistol - 30 cal hole, 1/2X28 threading. Works great.0
