LOOSE 94-22 INNER MAGAZINE TUBE

The inside Magazine Tube in my Winchester 94-22 won't stay put. Can anyone tell me what size rubber O-ring works to take up the slack at the end of the inner magazine tube on the Winchester 94-22? A 1/16x7/16x5/16 is too thick to twist the knurled knob in but did fit over the tube itself. There was a loose factory wire that came with the rifle but has since dropped off.
