Star was arguably the best of the Spanish pistol manufacturers. Their handguns were widely exported to the the United State and for many years Interarms handled the line. Star closed it's door for good about a dozen years ago but there are still plenty of their pistols on the resale market. The little 9mm Star Firestar has always been one of my favorite compact 9mm pistols.

I carry a Star PD45 which was one of the first aluminum frame 1911s made. The PD45 is a commander size 1911, I've had it for several years, it eats everything I feed it and is 100% reliable. The Firestar is a very good platform as well, they come in 9mm, 40 S&W and 45ACP.

I had a PD ,45, as my carry pistol for a couple of decades. Never jammed or misfed once with all sorts of ammo. Wish I had it back, my wife won't let go of it.

They mad some cool looking stuff. Uzi like sub machine guns. Great pistols. I might just pick one up someday.

Stars are great guns, but the PD was not one of the first aluminum framed guns. Colt used aluminum on the Commander model in the late 1950s.

I had the 1911 knock off in 9mm. Carried it as a backup for almost 10 years. As long as I kept it clean fed it once in awhile it took care of me.

Send two, make the perp feel wanted.

I had one a few years ago. I agree they are great firearms. As said before they will shoot any brand of ammo. The only draw back I had with mine was the weight. I got tired of the dang thing trying to pull my pants down when I went out into the field with it. Other than that I really liked it.
