Marlin/Glenfield Model 10
Are these little rifles supposed to cock with the bolt? Picked one up at a yard sale today, and it only cocks when the T handle is pulled back, I don't see a safety, and it got me to wondering if they were designed that way.
Did a search here and on the net, and found very little on #10's or #101's, Comes up #60. So I thought I'd ask. I'm sure somebody's owned 1 or 3.

IIRC, operating the bolt only chambered a round- due to the lack of a safety, they had to be manually cocked. Yours is the same rifle as the Model 101, but the 101 is an improved version of the 100. 0 -
Manually cocked, but good rifles, and very accurate and reliable. 0 -
Thanks. I thought that might be the case, but wasn't sure. It came with a 4x scope which overhangs the T handle and makes it a bit difficult to get my fat fingers in there. Except for some wear on the wood finish, its in pretty good shape. $40 bucks! I'm tickled. 0 -
