Colt New Service Army Proof ID...HELP!!!

This proof mark on the bottom of the grip panel is giving me a headache!! It appears to read "RA", but it looks like there might be a "D" or a "P" at the end. Anyone seen this marking before?? In my archives "RA" is a WWII rework proof, and this is a WWI gun from 1918. Reworked and used in both wars?? Bluse finish looks original, charcoal matte blue. The grips are not numbered to the gun, but look original. Any thoughts???
