Mauser-Arisaka type firing pin
Is it possible to extend a firing pin point , by welding for example that has been broken?

More than possible. It's been done for decades. 0 -
Better to drill and press in a pin.
Primer punch pins from reloading dies and "Holchrome" (sp) pins used in tool and die work will stand up better.
Drill blanks might be your best bet as they can be bought in the correct size from MSC.
Don't use plain carbon steel drill rod.0 -
Pin on my Arisaka was filed short in '53 when my dad gave it to me; my first rifle. I was 5. In about 1960 we sent it to Flaigs where they brazed (or at least thats what it looks like to me) a new tip on, rebarreled to .257 Roberts, added bent bolt handle, high polish blue, etc. It's till an Arisaka, but has fired thousand of rounds since with no problem. Sure wish the bolts were as easy to disassemble on my other bolt guns.[:D][:D] 0
