Wilson Combat TR-870

Is there something wrong with this posting? It has a few blemishes, was listed last week for 999 with no reserve...didn't get any bids...now relisted at 899 with no reserve.
I'm considering adopting it, but what's a fair price? Similar listings start around 1200...and those with a lower starting bid haven't met the reserve (highest bids were in the 700s).

That's an awful lot of money for an 870 IMO. I'm sure the work that Wilson Combat did is of their expected (usual) quality but I dunno that it's worth much more to me. I have an 870 that's never been worked on, has seen a couple thousand shells through it and has never failed to anything. You could add the attachments to a regular 870 yourself and save a TON of money. I would also say that nobody would buy one of those when they're paying for it out of their own pocket. Governments agencies would love to pay it. They can't spend money fast enough. I love the 870 but DAMN that's a lot of $ 0 -
The retail price on that 870 is $1395.
I think his starting price is less than wholesale.0 -
The price seems fair to me, probably just slightly high. I own one that is similar but without the light and mine has choke tubes. Great guns, though not cheap to buy. Gun sales seem to have slowed a lot lately and it is a buyers market right now. You should be able to find a good used 870 customized by Scattergun Technologies for a very reasonable price. 0 -
Thanks gents...good summary of my dilemma...a nice gun that seems overpriced, but is worth it to some (we all value things differently).
I have another 2 days to think about it...item didn't sell, but was relisted.
Thanks again for your thoughts.0 -
I bought one on GB a few years back for less than that. I'm sure nothing is wrong with it, maybe he didn't have that much in it and he is trying to sell it?
While most don't, I think they are well worth it. Its the difference between a production and a custom gun.0
