Anybody own new S&W polymer revolver?

Does anyone own one of the new S&W .38 special polymer framed revolvers? If so I wish to ask a few questions about it.

    I handled one, but don't own one. Seems like they wanted to copy the new Ruger LCR.

    It does fit the hand well, if you are used to the J-Frame sized guns.

    Thanks for the response. But it appears to me that the new S&W could be a little better than the new Ruger LCR. The S&W cylinder now rotates clockwise which means at the gun is being used to fire a bullet, the clockwise rotation actually tries to "close" the cylinder/frame gap whereas a counter-clock wise rotation tries to "open" the cylinder/frame gap. This makes for a much tighter, more aligned line up with the firing chamber in the cylinder and the barrel/forcing cone. I like this.

    The other difference is that the S&W does not have the 100+ year old design of a "hand" to turn the cylinder. It instead has a "star" which turns the cylinder. I also like that. But I am trying to find out exactly what turns the "star." Is it nothing more than having moved the old "hand" inside the frame and it turns the star which turns the cylinder? Or something else. If the mechinism I am curious about is not a well thought out design (it is a brand new design) then I do not want the gun.

    I recently purchased the S&W bodyguard 38 +p but unfortunately have not yet taken it to the range. Not sure what questions you have that I could help you with.

    If the cylinder is turned by a "star" on your revolver, instead of a "hand," can you look at the owners manual and describe to me exactly what turns the "star?'

    It is turned by a "star" The manual does not have an exploded view of the internals.

    Thank you Maalox. Great photo BTW. However, I must find a way to determine exactly what turns the "Star." I think the concept is great, however if all S&W did was to add the "Star" and move the "hand" inside the frame, and the hand turns the star, I do not consider that really an improvement. Plus, (no offense to you) the new S&W polymer frame revolver is kinda ugly. But I have been around long enough to not care if something is "ugly" if it works a whole lot better than what it replaces. Cabela's has a gun like yours for $499.99 and I am anxious to buy it. But not before I find how that darn star is powered. Is $499.99 a good price in your area?

    Hey, I know! Go ahead and take the gun apart and post photos of the exploded view. If you can't get it back together, I will come help you. (Hehe. Joking)

    I think most revolvers are ugly so no offense taken [:D] I purchased this one from Locust Fork here on GB. I think I won the auction for $460 plus shipping and my FFL fee. Not about to take it apart. The taking apart is easy but the putting back together is where I have issues [B)]
