Lyman 5A
I have an old Lyman 5A. It's been sitting on a book shelf in my living room for years. I just relized that it was probably worth something. It's not worth much to me but, someone out ther has a gun to fit this scope. I just don't know what it's worth. Lyman-5A I guess the serial # would 2286. These #'s are engraved to the left of the company name and location. It's just over 16 inches long. No scratches on the lenses.Croos hairs are good. I guess it to be 4X. As far as the blue, I don't know. I was told %80-%85. It has some rust pitting mosly on one side.

Check out the values on fleabay, as far as I know scopes are still politically correct over there. To bad about the pitting though, that"s never a positive, as far as value is concerned. 0 -
The Lyman 5-A is a 5 power scope. The economy that we have had in the past two to three years has taken its toll on prices that such a collectible scope would ordinarily bring, generally speaking, of course. I would be surprised that if a scope of this type in 80% condition brings more than $400.00.
Should you decide to put it up for auction on GB, please make a post here to let us know.0 -
So a few on ebay but like this one. I will be listing it. Just want to make sure of the value in current condition. I want to make sure I don't mislead anyone with my discription. 0 -

A belated welcome to the forum to you. [:)]
Good pictures should be all you need to show the percentage of bluing and pitting on it. This, and a couple of comments as to the condition of the optics and how well the knobs function should get you off to a good start.0 -
I did list it on Ebay last night. Tried to list on here but they want my credit card #. I'm not real comfortable with that. It's listed as a Lyman 5-A. 0
