Smith Enterprise receiver value

Still Dreamin
Trying to estimate a value on a Smith Enterprise M-14 rear lugged receiver. Serial below 3000. Markings are U.S. Rifle 7.62mm M-14 NM Smith Ent. It's been a safe queen better than 15 years and I intend to put it up for sale on GB. Never had a barrel on it. Bought it to build a gun, but I don't shoot service rifle anymore, age, eyesight, you know the story.

    If memory serves:

    Smith, Ent. receivers are forgings. Reputation sterling vis-a-vis dimensions/mettalurgy (to those few in the know).

    So, and by using LRB rear-lugged receivers (which are second to none) as a 'price datum', and the fact that LRB rear-lugged receivers are MSRP'ing at $975.00, you now have something to start with.

    I won't influence your pricing, but to get some nibbles at auction, and to 'let 'er fly', perhaps start at $500.00? Up to you. Good luck! Joe

    well you know it's worth at least $595. note you don't HAVE to ship from your ffl, you can send this to any ffl that will accept from an individual (including Ca,). Just box it up in a $5 priority mail box and you are 'good to go'.

    I used to work at the gun store I ship from. 12 years past. It's simpler to go FFL to FFL. Stay off the soap box in this forum. If you don't want to ship to CA that is your own business.
