To Sweat or Loctite?

I'm restoring my first shotgun. It's a Mossberg bolt action 20 ga. The original C-Lect Adj. choke flew off one day (LOL) and I just got another one. The original was sweated on with what seems like soft solder. Either that or someone else used soft solder for a repair before my Dad bought the used gun for me. Anyway I don't trust "soft" solder, I can silver solder it or Braze it but I don't want to use that much heat and what goes along with it. Would you trust a 95-5 solder or a high strength Loctite? I'm leaning towards the Loctite.The fit is pretty close. I have to tap it on with a soft hammer. Thanks in advance.

    the 95-5 solder will work fine.

    Well, I sweat it on with 95-5 solder and wil then find out how good it holds. I cleaned it well and tinned the barrel and choke so hope it holds. If not huge slug will be heading for something! (again) LOL

    Duck, if you have any more problems with it get some HighForce44 from Brownells. It has a higher shear strength than the hardware store types of solder with a comparable melt point.

    Yes, I thought of Hi-Force 44. We'll see what happens. I think the tube loosened by shooting slugs and I won't shoot any this time. This gun was my first, 42 yrs ago and had to use it for everything. Even as a club to finish off squirrels hence the cracked stock. LOL Thanks for the advice.
