M1A Scope Mount Screw

Went to the big gun show in Reno last weekend and scored a neat full length rail for an M1A Socom. Anchors in the dovetail cut in the charger bridge and a bracket up front, big screw hole in the side. But I forgot to grab a screw - I assumed the gun had one. So quick question, where can I get the scope mount base screw & if not, does anyone know the threading and maybe OSH, etc have an allen type.

  1/4x28 is thread diameter and pitch. Any decent hardware store ought to have a black finish or stainless steel button head torx or allen head screw.

  Thank you, I figure a 1/2" should length should be about right - might need to be dressed down a touch. I suppose a button with a flat mating surface would be best.
