Rufe is right about need of photos. The 1900 Colt as an automatic is in a position (collector wise) similar to the Paterson revolver, first of its kind. First need is to ID it as a 1900 instead of 1902 Sporting. The principal difference between them is the combo rearsight-safety. Roughly valued a 1900 totally original with no modifications, worn with no original finish would value around $2000. Better condition and details could run the value up into a few Ks.

In recent weeks a 1900, refinished, with modified sight-safety sold about $1600, another original unmodified with a little original finish sold for about $2500.
