Taurus frame sizes

I currently own the Taurus 627 Total Titanium .357 6.5" barrel. This is considered a "compact" frame according to Taurus customer service.

I am considering selling this to replace with Taurus Tracker .44 w/ 4" barrel. This is built on the Taurus large frame.

I am wondering if anyone could (or would!) advise if this frame will likely be too large for me - or what a good way to tell is. There is not a local dealer anywhere near me, so can't pick one up to try.

    Well it's kinda hard for us to tell you if the frame is too big for you or not-we don't know what your dimensions are lol. Unless you have tiny tiny hands and are frail, you should be able to handle the .44 Tracker just fine. Now when it comes to recoil the .44 is going to have at least double if not triple the recoil--there's no getting around that unless you shoot .44 Specials in it so if you are recoil sensitive then you should stick with your .357 Mag. Also you should be aware there are some factory loads out there that are not advised in the Tracker(specifically some Buffalo Bore and Garrett Cartridges). The best way though is you will actually have to hold one to see if you can handle it--one downside to Taurus revolvers is there are very few aftermarket grip makers that cater to Taurus so it can be hard to change the grip size to fit you.
