rifle values

I am hoping that I have found a place in assisting my husband in finding the value of many of his rifle collection. An advid collector he has many old rifles and guns, rabbit eared double barrel, double barrels, over and unders etc. however I can not find pricing book for these babies. If I am in the correct place, Please email me and I will post those that he wishes...thanks,,,renee mccall

    i have 2 rifles that i would like some help with value wise. first off is a ruger 10/22 ser. 230-90xxx. bluing is perfect, walnut stock has a couple very minor light scratches that can only be seen in bright light(don't break finish). it has a 25rd pre-ban mag, and a factory 10rd, and a cheap bushnell 4x15 sportview scope. next up is a pre-ban ruger mini-14 ser. 185-59xxx. it's a stainless steel model with a ramline folding stock. it has a pinned on flash hider, and looks like it's new with a 30rd ramline mag and a no-name 30rd blued mag. i personally have shot alot of ammo through this rifle, but it is in really good shape, looks new. if i could get some info on value, or a link where i could look it up, it would be very appreciated. cody, ameriskin@charter.net

    You will get a lot of responses regarding the 742. Some like it, others don't due to a design problem that can't be fixed, but can be "worked-around" by properly cleaning (imagine that) after use. Anyway, I personally like the 742's and have one in 30.06 which I recently acquired. My father has had one since the mid-60's in 6mm which is more sought after than other calibers.
    As far as value, if it's in fine condition it should be around the $400.00 value. Possibly more depending on the market. The 30.06 I just acquired was in the box and I paid $350.00 which I personally thought was a steal. I could be wrong, but I think the BDL has a raised cheek piece on the butt of the stock, while the standard does not. I can't remember.
    I don't know anything about the Interarms. You can look at completed auctions and see what they have sold for recently. To do this, go to the main page and look in the top-right corner for "smart search". Once you get to that page, you will navigate to the left side of the page for "completed auctions/requires sign in". Once you sing in, you can put the model you are interested in into the search field and "enter". You will be able to view past auctions and see what the specific models you are inquiring on have sold for.

    As Mooned noted some like the 742 some don't. Around here they were really popular for a long while. Now, not as popular and there is a bunch on the market for a lot less than $400. Although in the pristine condition you list it in, that may not be all that far off the mark. I'm personally a {edit: 700 bolt gun} guy, but I have to admit that follow up shots are a lot more necessary up here in MN than in most places. And for that the 742 (and other versions of Remington semi-auto as well as pump guns) serves probably a better purpose. I have seen them sell here for as low as $200 and as high as $350. All in various conditions of used.

    The Mark X is pretty much a modern M98 Mauser built in Yugoslavia. As far as I'm concerned they are great guns. In a number of cases they do need a little bit more finishing in some places. But as far as a functional and accurate rifle they come pretty highly recommended.

    Depending on quality of wood, caliber and finish overall (condition) they can range from $250-$600.

    For a little more precise estimate of prices, pics would help tremendously.
