Hello The information I have the last 45acp pistols were shipped 1915 . which would be before your serial # however when I get the chance . I will look at my other books . Winston Churchill bought one in 1915 serial c15566 they were not shipped in large lots but rather small lots in 45ACP with slightly over 4 thousand in 45ACP As far as value 80%-90% could mean many different things I have a 1911 with serial number below C1500 it has 90% deep rich original Blue but because of storage in leather holster the other 10% has deep very small pin head size pits [:(]the front sight is mostly just a shell . This pistol has very little value compared with one that is 80% blue with 20% flaking but no pits. Pictures would go a long way to helping set value.

Thanks for the Pictures from what I can see it looks to be original finish and correct vintage looking parts. [:)]However the pictures are not close enough of some areas to show the detail we need on the frame near the area of the magazine release There should be an inspectors mark Three letters in an intertwined Circle we need a close up of that also the chamber area of the Barrel TOP should have 2 letters the location of these letters is important a Picture or written description is needed. Also on the frame top that is hidden when the slide is mounted there should be letters around the hole that the nose of the disconnector sticks out. also there MAY be letters or numbers hidden behind the firing pin retainer. on the sides of the trigger guard there may be some letters. EACH and EVER mark or letter will allow us to tell you more about your pistol. If these new pictures come in like I think they will . You might want to buy a lottery ticket. I am not ready to say it is all original until I know the answers to these question but you are well on your way [:p][:D]

EDIT sorry I will be really busy away from my books until maybe Wednesday I will get back to you then.I don't like the sound of the barrel markings off the top of my head but don't want to state one thing now and find out I was mistaken until I check. Karl

Some more info on the Colt 1911.
SLIDE-The underside at the cartridge face has a#4 stamped. There is
an S behind the firing pin retainer.
FRAME- Front of the trigger guard has a point down TRIANGLE enclosing letters VP. Rear bottom has an oval letter E. Between the mag release and the slide catch is a STAR. Above that is a #7 sideways. The top of the frame at the disconnecter has the same oval E as the trigger guard. The lower feed ramp has a SQUARE in the groove in front. Beside this where the slide runs is a#1.
BARREL- I cannot find any marks on the polished portion above the chamber. There is a diamond on the bottom just behind the link stud.
I'll send more photos (when I find out how).
Hope this info helps. I'm not betting on the veracity of the marks but it's the best these old eyes and a magnifying glass could do.
    Larry.

Barrel Should have At least a P on top of barrel in chamber area This part of barrel can be seen with pistol put together and slide in forward position. IT also MAY have a Con the breach face end of the hood. A barrel with no markings could be correct much later from serial C227000-C240287 not your serial number range.

Hi Karl, I was away a few days. Disappointed that the barrel is not original. What would the value be now? With the correct barrel? Thanks, Larry.
