question about swede mauser skings

I ask for the opinions from true swede mauser collectors. I have been buying alot of swedish mauser slings for m96 m38 rifles and i have noticed that a few have what looks like stainles or chrome buckles instead of the brass buckles i see everywhere. Do any collectors know why??. thanks in advance for your help.
