Two in two days
We had another problem today; this time it was a melt down this afternoon and once again several threads and their posts had to be deleted. I apologize to those who posted information in good faith and found their work trapped inside a deleted thread. This forum is perhaps the best resource on the Web for technical information on firearms and related subjects but it must be used wisely and in accordance to a few basic ground rules:
1) This is not a place for political statements or to climb on a soap box. If you have a manifesto then there are forums specifically dedicated to letting members vent their opinions on a variety of issues. Lets stay focused.
2) All information provided here is given freely and at the pleasure of those who choose to respond. No one is obligated in any way to answer questions, take photographs on request or even respond to threads at all.
3) Information that is provided is on a take it or leave it basis. If you don't agree with something that you have been told then you are free to ignore it, but do not insult or belittle the person who took the time and put out the effort to help you. If you cannot deal with the idea that someone may disagree with you then you probably won't be happy here in this forum.
4) Be nice. There are a few members who seem to lack basic social skills and for some reason do not interact well with others. This is a privately owned forum and membership and the ability to participate is a privilege and not a right of any kind. Your posts and threads can be edited or deleted at the whim of the moderating staff. This will be automatic for profanity above PG, personal attacks and insults against other forum members and any type of racial slur (I am proud to say that we have had virtually none of those in our forum).
I believe that all of us can agree that if we just follow a few basic rules the forum will continue to be a very pleasant place to spend some time and learn about firearms.

Although I can fairly be accused of being a bit of an (expletive) in some of the other forums on GB I appreciate the information and civility that is almost always maintained here. Please keep up the good work.0 -

Well stated; the only thing I could add is folks shouldn't post on a thread unless they have something germane to the OP's question; it just wastes one of the 10+ possible relevant responses. This happens all too often in my opinion! 0 -

Didn't we have one a couple weeks ago that went near 20 posts? I'll refrain from responding anymore once I've stated what value I can give to the post. I have to say recently I let some posts push my buttons. That was before I went to Alaska on the 5th. I'm better now.....
That particular thread involved one of two gentleman who now are no longer with us and who's presence I seriously doubt will be missed.0
