M1 CARBINE. ANY HELP? PLEASE

im looking at a .30 cal US M1 CARBINE. the barrel has the ibm corps marking with date of 9 -43 right behind front sight. has blue sky/ arlington, va marking on left side of barrel. has a 7 digit serial #. push button safety. the mag release is marked with " cc" about a large "M" also has a " P " marking on the under grip by the trigger gaurd. it also has an "H" in the middle of a shield on the right side of the rear sight. the front sight has either "zz" or "NN" marked on it dont know which way to read.the stock is beautiful; muzzle is in pretty good shape along with the bore. ANY INFO ABOUT THIS RIFLE, AND ITS VALUE WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED.

    Thats about right for a Blue Sky Import. What does it say under the rear sight?

    Well, it has IBM barrel and receiver, thats good. The Blue Sky stamping on the barrel detracts from the guns value. I would be worth probably $300- $400 more without it, but if its going to be a shooter, who cares.

    IBM's are the third rarest of the GI issue carbines surpassed only by Standard Products and Rock-ola. IBM made 346,500 of these handy little guns.

    Mark C. - Wasn't there a problem with some Blue Sky imports where they stamped the barrel so hard it bent them in? Heard that a long time ago. If true, the buyer might want to have the barrel checked before purchase.

    I have three Blue Sky Imports and luckily that didn't happen to any of mine. They are great little shooters.
