Orig SHARPS 78 Deluxe Mid-Range Borchart
What's the going rate? Original unmolested Sharps 1878 Borchart Deluxe Mid-Range, With Dr. Lebowski letter as an original mid-range in 40 cal, pistol grip, checkered, 26 inch round barrel, Number 1, with wood panels that match the deluxe wood. Original mid range rear vernier sight and folding beaches front sight. UNMOLESTED with great finish and fit everywhere. receiver has lots of case hardening with great wood panels. Only 10% color left but lots of hardening present. Barrel has full coverage original blue with some toning, but absolutely better than most!!! Wood is deluxe checkered pistol grip that is about 98% with only the slightest handling marks and almost all the varnish. Wood to metal fit is near perfect. Great bore, tight action. Doesn't sound promising here but that is a big dollar item worthy of one of the high end national auction houses.
Too bad you can't post photos here for those that salivate over fine firearms.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I have since received several emails from different folks with their opinions and offers. After I emailed pics to one fella he told me one sold at auction last year in about the same shape and was also a lettered Mid-Range. He said it went for $12,500. At least now I have a starting point, thanks all who gave input. 0
