    Hello ncnymonsterbuck,

Believe it or not, most good rifles that shoot in the MOA or better class, in conjunction with a quality 3-9x, or 4.5-14x scope, are well capable of taking deer out to, and or past 500 yards. That includes the 25-06, 260, 270, 7mm-08, 280, 308, 30-06, and of course the magnums. With the proper zero, which is roughly 2" high at 100 yards, it is hold on hair out to 400 yards, hold dead centerof the deers chest at 300, and at 500 hold about the height of the deer over the deer's back.

So yes, from what I have read in the advertisements, you calibrate the ELIMINATOR scope when sighting it in. You shoot it at long distance to check it, just like you would with a regular scope, before you actually shoot at an animal. Actually, before you shoot at an animal, you should make sure you can consistantly hit the kill zone at that range.

Are you anywhere around the Lewis county area?

Southern St. Lawrence County, work in Jefferson County. I always knew that about regular scopes, just wanted something more precise for the longer distances. Thanks for replying you the only one so far! Must not be a hot topic to people.

Cool...I have a place in the town of Diana...Northern Lewis county.

I will be up there the following 3 weekends. I have 4 powerlines that run thru my property, and get out to 1000 or so if I work at it. I will be playing with my souped up Sendero SF II this weekend comming weekend in 300 RUM. I have one of my NightForce NXS 5.5-22X56 sitting on it. It will be fun. Drop me an e-mail for directions and a phone number if you wish.

There was another thread addressing the Eliminator scope, if you want to do a search, you will be able to find it.

    EDIT 1

They are so new, there are hardly any out there yet. Even some of the distributors don't have them to send to dealer's yet.

Has anybody out there used this scope and have an opinion? I've read what some of the blogs say. I want to know more from the guys that have used them!

Ya but there has to be someone in the world of guns and ammo that has used one, and could tell me if it's worth the 800 bucks they want for them?

There was an article in one of the gun rags not to long ago on them. In order for them to work decently, they have to be zeroed properly at short range, then shot and adjusted at long range. They are only good to 600 yards.
