S&W sighting problem

I have a S&W 6shot .22 that has adjustable rear sights. It shoots
low, and I have adjusted the sights as for down as they will go.
How can I get it properly sighted in (short of filing down the
front sight)? Filing the front sight is not an option as the gun
is chrome plated.

    If it shoots low the rear sight has to be raised. The rear sight is moved in the direction of the desired bullet impact. The front sight is exactly opposite.

    Raise the rear sight to shoot higher. If you run out of adjustment, S&W makes rear sight blades in three heights, .126", .146", and .160". You would need a taller one.

    Ditto on the instructions from rufe. The rear sight is moved in the direction you WANT the impact to go, NOT the direction where it is hitting now. Move the rear sight up to move your POI up; move it Right if you want to move your POI to the right, etc. Happy shooting.
