    Mill a dove tail where the hole is in the slide. The new sight will cover up anything left.

    That hole is 1/4 inch across.

    A dovetail cut is going to take most of the hole out!
    It tapers down from the top.

    Hello Sir I would get your gunsmith to look long and hard at the top locking lugs in your slide. That barrel has either had hundreds of thousands of rounds through It or was improperly fitted to this slide . The top lugs are Junk and unsafe to use IMHO and the top lugs of the slide if anything like the barrel then it is JUNK also. The dove tail cross cut is your only hope and welding rebuildin will be too costly and you can get a new FUSION slide direct from fusion or other brands from Brownells

    Note that the hole in the slide matches a hole in the barrel.

    Are you replacing the barrel?
    If not, I don't know what will happen when you cap off that leak with a sight. Maybe not much, but not a bit good.
