I have just picked up a Smith And Wesson Model A In 30-06. Other markins say FFV-SWEDEN 30-06 NITRO. The stock is not in the best shape I need a cross referance or some place to get a new stock. thanks Troy

Jim, Welcome to the forum. There are some experts and many others who follow this forum and are willing to answer questions. We must have more information. I will make the inevitable request, please post pictures of the shotgun. We can give you some information if we have the model mumber. The serial number alone is not enough to work from.

jwo39 just took a quick glance at the serialization numbers that corralate with year of manufacture and i cannot find anything that references a prefix "A". i do have one that is stamped "model 1912" on the barrel with a straight number of (81xxx five digits) and i believe it was manufactured around 1914-15, have another one with ser. number 29xxxx (six digits) and believe it to be made about 1922. the difference is the newer one is stamped, on the barrel, "model 12". so my w.a.g would be subtract the "A" and yours was born around 1913. does it have a solid rib by any chance?
